Viva La Who!

Hello! I am alive! I come bearing updates!

Last weekend on the 12th, I ventured to La-La Land to UCLA's Pauley Pavilion to attend the taping of VH1's Rock Honors: The Who. The show debuted this past week on the 17th, but you can watch it on VH1's site. As you can see from the photos, the show was amazing, and even more amazing in person! I don't want to babble on, but I can say that each band that payed honor to The Who far exceeded my expectations. Foo Fighters, Flaming Lips, Incubus, Tenacious D and Pearl Jam just blew my mind. Seriously. And what can I say about The Who? Other than no other band in the world deserve this kind of honor and tribute that they do? This is my third time seeing them live (First time in 2006, and then again last year) and they just keep getting better. Definitely like a fine wine, they get better with age (And I don't just speak about Mr. Roger Daltrey, whom I have already proclaimed my love for on this blog, but also for Mr. Pete Townshend and the magic they still create on stage 40 years later) ;)

I didn't take too many photos (Too busy screaming my head off, haha. And ones I did get- most of them were blurry), but here are a few better shots that I took during the show:

The Flaming Lips during their set.
They performed an amazing medley of songs from Tommy.

PEARL JAM. I've never been a hardcore fan, but I do respect the music they make. They performed fantastic versions of "Love Reign O'er Me" and "The Real Me" from Quadrophenia.

Adam Sandler introducing The Who.

Epic! Lasers! It's "Baba O'Riley"!

Roger! Pete! Sigh!

Ah, but don't worry, folks. Beauty content ahoy!

One thing I didn't do was take pictures of myself, before or after, at any time during the evening. I wore this dress (from American Eagle. Who knew?) with some gold pumps (from Target. I love a good bargain). I didn't know what kind of makeup to do and I admit I didn't take a whole lot with me for the weekend (and I was in a terrible rush packing the night before), so I had to make due with what I had). Like I said, I didn't take any pictures of myself that night, but for the sake of the blog I decided to re-create the look:

I know it's not exact replica, and for the most part I just put on stuff over what I already had on the whole day. I won't list everything, but some items of note are:
-Benefit Dallas -Wet 'n' Wild Rio Radiance Bronzer
-Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Swoonderful

On the eyes, I only packed one palette with me and that was Lancome's Color Design Artist Palette in Stylish Neutrals. I used Click on the lid and Backstage Pass on the outer corner and crease. I may have used The New Black too, but I didn't here. Then I happened to have a sample of MAC's Gold Mode pigment in my bag and used that on the inner part of the lid. To highlight I used my tried and true Stila Wheat.

Whew. If you don't notice the time on this entry, it's around 3:00 in the morning. Should I be asleep? Probably. Do I have to be up in a few hours? Maybe. I made a little....okay, medium-sized haul today so expect that in the next day. And I mean that, no more rock 'n' roll trips for a while ;)

It was a once in a lifetime chance, when the tickets went on sale I didn't buy one. I got my ticket two weeks before. I was so glad there were tickets left!
